Developed and launched the Teacher Resource Platform for instructors at NYIT and around the globe. The NYIT-MSIT platform has been built to provide aid to instructors that would like to develop and learn more about the appropriate use of technology in a teaching environment to improve the learning experience of the students. Built through: WordPress, LMS, CSS.
Became the President of the Graduate Student Association. Advocated for the student body through representation to articulate the student body’s needs, desires, interests, and concerns. Planned, organized, performed, and conducted recreational, social, and academic activities for students in and outside the campus. Designed GSA’s web page, handled social media, and massive communications to the student body.
Developed the Digital Literacy Project for Teachers in Low-Income Communities (Greenscreen & Video Editing) which focuses on facilitating teachers to effectively bring technology-based learning into their learning/teaching programs. Most communities in Peru do not have enough resources to invest in educational technologies, including green screen equipment. Through the Edward Guiliano Fellowship Program, we can make this possible and provide communities with everything they need to continue and maximize their learning.
Built through: Google Classroom, Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, OBS, Audacity.
Became Teacher Assistant and helped students develop their teaching portfolios and online workshops. Effectively communicated and coordinated with the instructor in order to assist in daily lesson plans. Provided individual assistance to graduate students to ensure an understanding of concepts. Assisted teaching in reviewing, grading and recording homework and tests. Maintained, observed and assessed each student’s progress through assessments and was aware of students who needed more one-on-one guidance. Taught green screening and video editing with tools such as OBS and Adobe Premiere.
Became the representative for the DEI in NYIT, Vancouver campus, helped with social media and annual climate survey. At New York Tech, diversity is represented by a mosaic of unique individuals from a variety of racial, ethnic, religious, gender, gender presentation, sexuality, geographic, cultural, age, abilities, and socioeconomic groups. Each individual brings unique intellectual, artistic, and creative gifts to create a rich, vibrant campus community. As a DEI representative, I recognize the strength that stems from a diversity of perspectives, values, ideas, backgrounds, styles, approaches, experiences, and beliefs.
